Why are we so happy to be called skinny?

Ok ok, so this must be blog history I'm making right here! 2 posts in 1 night?? Has it ever been heard of??Oh well....
1 of my friends "complimented" me the other day, she said "omg Brenda you look soo good. You've lost so much weight, you're like a size 0"...and guess what...I WASN'T HAPPY. Weird huh? Nope! If this happened just a year ago, I would have been so excited about the compliment! and then later on asked myself, "wait, why am I happy about that again?" Oh yea, because I want to be skinny like the girl I saw in the magazine with the nice dress...Why does you look good=you lost weight. Why can't Aww, you look healthy=you look beautiful, or you gained some weight and look fabulous=you're so sexy. Usually "you gained weight goes with ..."BUT you still look good. Why the "BUT?"
I know I am probably the worst person to tell if you're already slim and you lose weight, but I'm actually joking.
I always fake-hate on people who are below size 6 (just 'cause sometimes I do wish I was a size 6,but hey, we all have our days)and I have soo many friends who lose weight without even trying while I used be there eating corn, tuna and green beans for dinner before I can squeeze into a dress 2 weeks later! I also know peple who live for compliments like "omg you look so skinny" or "you lost weight, good".I used to be like that, but not anymore. But why has our society equated losing weight with looking good? Jennifer Hudson had never ever been on any top 100 most beautiful lists before her scary(yes I said scary) weight loss. But just this year, she was on both People's and Maxim's Top 100 list and she was pretty high up there too! SO when she was bigger she wasn't "hot" enough? That's weird, because when she was bigger, she had enough self-confidence for 2! How come that wasn't sexy enough?Hmm...
I always wonder how come Jordin Sparks or Ravne were never on these lists! They are 2 of the most beautiful woman in Hollywood! (Although their recent weight loss will probably get them on next year's lists). The media always says how curvy and thick Beyonce is...when she looks slim to me! Ashanti or even Alicia Keys would be called thick, not Beyonce.Scarlett Johanssen is skinny as well in my books, that's not thick.
ALL of my friends know that I have my moments (more than I'm proud of) of gym/eating healthy obsession but the fact is, I would never EVER want to be a size 0, nor a size 2....not even a 4! I know my body shape and I would hate to lose my butt and breasts or my hips. The thighs and calves on the other hand...well that's another story for the next post: "THAT body part"....What's your take on this whole "skinny bitch" craze (as I like to call it),no offense intended.
Till then, I remain Brendaly yours...

    1. I'm not bitching about being skinny, the irony surrounding the blog title is that I was once obese, then became too thin and now I am healthy. I have no problem with skinny people nor big people,it's more of a personal thing. My friends call me skinny bish, some call me thick bish-I'm fine with whatever.
